Students are to find a list of items that have symmetry in the school
Tasks:
1) Describe the main steps of the activity/lesson/project here
Students are to take digital camera around school and look for items that are semetric.
Studens are to upload the pictures to the computer.
Students are to use the pictures to create a show in photostory showing the symmetry and making transfomations.
Objectives:
G.TR.08.09 Understand the definition of a dilation from a point in the plane, and relate it to the definition of similar polygons. G.TR.08.10 Understand and use reflective and rotational symmetries of two-dimensional shapes and relate them to transformations to solve problem
Students will be able to rotate, flip, and show lines of symmetry.
Students will work in pairs on this project.
Assessment:
As a class we will look at the photo shows. Students will grade themselves. Students need to have correct pictures, transformations, and explanitations.
